BGPC offers free pregnancy tests. They are fast,99% - 100% accurate, and the results are strictly confidential. The client will be asked tofill out a short form of general information, asked to get a urine sample andthen will perform the test herself with the help of a peer counselor. Pregnancytest results are known in four minutes. At this time there may be somediscussion about alternatives and ways that BGPC can be of assistance.Appointments are encouraged, although walk-ins are welcome.

The Center's Hope Chest is a valuable resourceavailable during and after your pregnancy. We can provide you with maternityclothes, layettes, baby/children clothes up to 2T, and other baby items such ascribs, strollers, and high chairs. Because furniture items are ingreat demand there is generally a waiting list. Just let us know how we canhelp. No appointment needed.

peercounseling You will have the opportunity to develop asupportive relationship with one of our trained volunteer counselors. Yourcounselor will continue to meet with you as often as you wish during and afteryour pregnancy. She will be able to help in a variety of ways includingemotional support, budgeting, suggestions on how to break the news to friendsand family, birth coaching, and help in practicing healthy relationships. This is notrecommended to replace professional counseling when there is that need.
postabortionsupport For women or men who have been through an abortionexperience. The group works through the steps of grieving toward healing inrelation to their abortion experiences. A very caring atmosphere which makes sharingeasy and comfortable is provided. Call [354-4673] to find out when the next session will be held.
referrals  BGPC offers assistance in medical, social service,legal, housing and adoption referrals. If you need assistance in any of theseareas, we will be glad to refer you to doctors, lawyers, and help you find aplace to live during your pregnancy.

woodcountyhealthdept. The WCHD offers a Prenatal Clinic for women who do not have insurance. Ituses a sliding fee scale policy and will help cover 0-100% of the cost dependingon the person's income. [352-8402]

housing We can work with you in looking for housing. Someoptions are maternity homes, a sheltering home, or sharing an apartment with another single mom.
adoptionagencies We do not handle adoptions at the Bowling GreenPregnancy Center but we do offer counseling throughout and after your pregnancyand will help you select an agency to work with.
